Winning the MMU Press Second International Article Writing Competition
April 6, 2026
In 2024, I took part in the Second International Article Writing Competition organised by Multimedia University Press (MMU Press), Malaysia, and I won the First Prize in the Journal of Communication, Language and Culture (JCLC) category.
The competition brought together scholars from different parts of the world, and receiving the award was both humbling and encouraging. My article, “Utilising AI-powered Chatbots for Learning Endangered Nigerian Languages and Considerations for Their Development”, examined how artificial intelligence can support the preservation of Nigeria’s indigenous languages, a subject that is important to me.
This recognition affirmed that the questions I am exploring as a researcher matter beyond my immediate context. It also led to the publication of the article in JCLC, Volume 4, Issue 2, 2024.
I am grateful to MMU Press for creating a platform that allows scholars from underrepresented regions to contribute meaningfully to global academic community.
